Christine Chmura, PhD
Chris is the President and Chief Economist for Chmura Economics & Analytics, a quantitative research and economic development and workforce consulting firm located in Richmond, Virginia, that she founded in December 1999. She is a quoted source on regional and national trends in the media throughout the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, as well as national publications such as the Wall Street Journal. She writes a monthly column on the economy for the Richmond Times Dispatch. Chris currently serves on the Governor’s Economic Advisory Board of the Commonwealth of Virginia and the Governor’s Commission on Economic Development & Job Creation.

Dr. DiCroce has headed Tidewater Community College since May 1998, following nine years as president of Piedmont Virginia Community College in Charlottesville. During her tenure, TCC has experienced twelve consecutive years of record enrollment increases, serving over 47,000 credit students in the current academic year, and a capital building program of almost $400 million.

We have 20 rooms blocked for Wed., Sept. 15 and Thurs., Sept. 16 at the state rate of $72/night at the Williamsburg Hospitality House http://www.williamsburghosphouse.com/. In addition 5 rooms are blocked for Friday night, September 17th if anyone needs another night due to a long drive or travel.
VAMAP-IPEDS Conference rate is $80.28 (including taxes), please contact The Williamsburg Hospitality House directly and reference the VAMAP-IPEDS Conference rate.
All participants will get the same rate (regardless if they are at a state or private institution or getting their room paid for by the grant. The rooms in the block will be held until August 16th—30 days prior to the event. After this time, the rooms are released, but individuals can still get the discounted rate as long as the hotel is at less than 90% occupancy.
Those calling for individual reservations need to reference VAMAP-IPEDS Conference to get the rate. Individuals will be asked for a credit card to hold the room. The workshop attendees receiving a travel grant make their own reservation, pay for their room and then AIR reimburses them.

The Association for Institutional Research (AIR) and the Virginia Association for Management Analysis and Planning (VAMAP) are co-hosting a one-day IPEDS Workshop for data providers and users on Friday, September 17, 2010 in conjunction with VAMAP's annual fall meeting on Thursday, September 16, 2010 at the College of William and Mary’s School of Education. Funding is provided by the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES).
Highlights
IPEDS Workshop Registration Request Process and Travel Assistance Awards
This workshop is limited to 40 participants. A web page containing additional information and an online registration request process will be launched on July 22, 2010. Workshop participants will be able to request up to $500 to offset the cost of travel.
